Amistad Movement Power Endorses Uncommitted PA

Protestors calling for a ceasefire in Gaza march in Center City Philadelphia

We continue to watch with horror as U.S. elected officials express unwavering support for Israel’s relentless massacre of Palestinians in Gaza, where over 34,000 people have been killed, at least 14,000 of whom were children. As the Democratic primary approaches next Tuesday, April 23rd, we at Amistad Movement Power are joining with thousands of people of conscience to call upon Joe Biden and the Democrats to use their power to work for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza. To that end, we are endorsing Uncommitted PA in their call for registered Democrats to write in “Uncommitted” for the presidential nominee.

For those of you who are worried this will potentially give Donald Trump a boost, rest assured that primaries are a way for registered Democrats to send a message to party leadership. It will not affect the general election. We are hard at work to combat rightwing political forces, locally and nationally. Alongside that commitment, we want to use our votes to demand the Biden-Harris Administration stand with the majority of voters in our calls for an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Palestine. We want to show the Democratic Party and Biden that they're actively losing the base that they need to win the 2024 election by not calling for a ceasefire.

What We're Calling For:

An immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza

An end to the siege of Gaza

Reinstate humanitarian aid and UNRWA funding

End unconditional aid to Israel

All you need to do is fill in the “Write-in” bubble and write in "Uncommitted" for the presidential nominee in the April 23, 2024 Primary Election.

While we are disappointed with the leadership of many Democrats, we're excited to support principled progressive leaders who have taken a strong stand for people suffering under unjust policies in Palestine and across PA. See our full list of endorsements here and make a plan to register your power at the ballot box on April 23rd.
